Awards & Judging

Levels of Competition

Debut Level: This level is for dancers with three years or less of training and/or no previous competition experience. This is for the beginner dancer who takes a few classes a week and wants to gain experience at competition without the pressure of competing against seasoned competitors.

Competitive Level: This level is for dancers who have between 3 and 5 years of training, who take at least 3-5 hours a week and have previous competition experience.

Elite Level: This level is for the seasoned, advanced dancers. Elite level dancers should have 5 or more years of dance training and take at least 5 or more hours a week.

All judges’ decisions are final. Every dancer receives a digital score sheet and private audio critique for continued growth and improvement.

Each competition will be judged by 3 of our professional judges. Adjudicated and Placement scoring will both be used. Our adjudicated system is based on a pre-set scale of points. Each performance will be awarded a Diamond, Ruby, Emerald or Sapphire award based on the total number of points they receive.

Judges’ Choice Awards:
Given at the judges’ discretion for outstanding artistry, performance, or originality.

The top 10 highest scoring routines in each category will be given a plaque. Individual medals are given for solo and duo/trio entries. Groups will receive one plaque. Lapel pins will be provided to all members of the group.

Title Competition

The prestigious Dynasty Title Award recognizes excellence, artistry, and star quality.

  • Available to Elite Soloists (Petite–Senior).
  • Additional $25 entry fee per solo.
  • A dancer may enter multiple solos but can only win one title per year.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 contestants per age division.

Title Winners Receive:
Dynasty sweatshirt, Crown (girls) or Beanie (boys), and website feature.

DDC Cash Credit Awards

Exclusively for Elite Level routines:

  • Top Solo: $100 DDC Credit
  • Top Duo/Trio: $125 DDC Credit
  • Top Group: $150 DDC Credit

DDC Credit can be applied to future registrations (using the winner’s code during checkout) and must be redeemed within the following season.

Delivery & Recognition

  • Adjudications are available following awards ceremony. Adjudication can be found in your DanceComp Genie account. Dance Comp Genie account is created at registration.
  • Physical awards are shipped to the address provided at registration.
  • Winners are also featured on DDC’s official social media pages.
