About Dynasty Dance Challenge
What is Dynasty Dance Challenge?
Dynasty Dance Challenge is a virtual dance competition that allows dancers and studios to compete nationally without the cost or stress of travel. Performances are prerecorded, judged by elite professionals, and awarded with plaques, medals, lapel pins and recognition.
How is a virtual dance competition different from in-person competitions?
Instead of traveling to a venue, dancers submit routines online. Our judges provide the same professional feedback and awards as traditional competitions.
Who can participate?
DDC is open to dancers of all levels, ages, and styles. Competitions are divided into age categories and divisions so everyone has a fair chance to shine.
Registration & Submissions
How do I register for a competition?
Registration is done online through our website. Once you’ve created an account, you can submit routines, upload videos, and complete payment securely.
What types of performances can be submitted?
Solos, duets, trios, and group routines are accepted.
What’s the deadline for submissions?
Registration closes 3 days prior to the event. We recommend registering early to secure your spot. Late registrations (after the 3-day cutoff) are accepted only if space is available, must be paid by credit card, and late fee of $30 per routine will be applied.
Are there rules for video submissions?
Yes. Videos must be clear, filmed in one continuous shot (no heavy edits), and show the full body of the dancer throughout the routine. Full submission guidelines are provided at registration.
Judging & Awards
Who are the judges?
Our judges are experienced professionals in the dance industry — choreographers, teachers, and performers with years of expertise. Meet them on our Judges page.
How is judging done in a virtual format?
Judges review each submitted routine online and provide detailed, constructive feedback. Scoring is based on technique, artistry, and performance quality.
What types of awards are given?
In addition to division placements, we give specialty awards like “Outstanding Technique,” “Most Entertaining Performance,” “Outstanding Choreography,” and “Judge’s Choice.” Winners receive plaques, medals, and crowns mailed directly to them.
How do dancers get recognized beyond awards?
Outstanding performances may be featured on our social media and website, giving dancers national visibility and exposure.
Dynasty Dancer of the Year
What is the Dynasty Dancer of the Year award?
The Dynasty Dancer of the Year is our highest honor, awarded to one standout dancer (ages 12–18) each season. This dancer represents the brand nationally, will be featured in promotions, and receive exclusive recognition.
How do I apply for Dancer of the Year?
It is free to apply. Applications are submitted online and must include a headshot along with a 1–2 minute highlight reel or solo performance video. Applications for the 2026 year are closed.
What’s included in the award?
The Dynasty Dancer of the Year receives a crown, customized Dynasty ring, branded merch, free entry for the following season, and ongoing social media highlights.
How is the winner chosen?
Judges score applicants based on dance ability, character, and star quality. The top five dancers will be chosen as our Dynasty Royalty Court. Beginning December 10–14, one member of the Royalty Court will be announced each day, leading up to the exciting reveal of our 2026 Dynasty Dancer on December 14. All announcements will be shared through our social media channels.
General & Technical Questions
What does it cost to participate?
Entry fees vary by category and are listed during registration. We strive to keep our competition affordable.
Do I need special equipment to record routines?
No. A smartphone or standard camera works as long as the video is clear, well-lit, and stable.
Can international dancers compete?
Currently, DDC is focused on U.S.-based competitors, but international expansion may be considered in the future.
